A beer tasting & tour with
Dookit Brewing Co.

Tollcross Industrial Estate, Glasgow
09 October 2022

On a particularly damp, early-winter Sunday, Harry, the founder of Dookit Brewery, welcomed us into his shared brewing space in an industrial unit in Glasgow’s East End. It was a very different experience to our last tour and tasting, but it wasn’t any less interesting or enjoyable.

Originally from London, Harry moved to Glasgow in 2020 to set up a microbrewery, a dream he’d had for some years. Now into it’s 3rd year, Dookit produce a core range of beers which are available year round, alongside some pretty special seasonal and one-off brews as well. Not only that, but all beers are unfiltered and vegan friendly. And the originality doesn’t stop with the beer. All the labels feature artwork commissioned by Glasgow-based artists.

Whether it was the fact we had a much more intimate group, Harry very generously walked us through the ideas and production of 6 of his small-batch beers: Southside Pale, Mo Flo Mild, Treat Yo Self, Forritsome, Cheerful (name TBC - what did this become?) and In the Cone Zone. It was a fascinating discussion of brewing, ingredients and foraging, overcoming some very unique challenges and making some amazing wins.

The tasting notes from one of our members is below.

Discussions from this evening actually led onto a very special spring-time collaboration...

Head to the website to learn more about Dookit and the beers they sell.
