Fancy joining the Glasgow Sustainable Food Directory?

Our goal is not only to map and showcase the most socially and environmentally responsible venues throughout the city. We exist to help businesses to improve their practices whether they’re a member or not.

︎GSFD Sustainability Resources (Mar 2025)

We’ve made our resources available for use by all as it’s important that everyone is helped along their journey to becoming more responsible. It’s a non-exhaustive list of our
top resources and sustainable Scottish suppliers & producers. Please let us know if you have any further suggestions!

The application process

With advice and support from our partners at Dear Green Coffee, Open Seas and Zero Waste Scotland, we’ve honed the marking criteria to be more specific and relevant to the type of business you operate. Applications scoring 75% or above of the maximum points available to their business type are successful.

The questions we ask food outlets and shops covers 4 areas:
  1. the food they sell/serve, including its origin and environmental sustainability
  2. health, relating to the proportions of vegetables served and how processed their food is
  3. wider environment, including food waste and packaging
  4. wider community, covering accessibility, inclusivity, staff training & wellbeing

Still undecided on whether to make an application?

Join us on the 13th May at Civic House for our first sustainability training and networking session! It’ll be an opportunity for members and non-members to hear from some of our expert partners, exchange notes with like-minded businesses and speak to some of our favourite Scottish suppliers.
